{"id":15801,"date":"2017-03-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-03-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/uncategorized\/adelaide-crows-announced-some-big-news-overnight\/"},"modified":"2017-03-02T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-03-02T00:00:00","slug":"adelaide-crows-announced-some-big-news-overnight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/news\/adelaide-crows-announced-some-big-news-overnight\/","title":{"rendered":"The Adelaide Crows announced some big news overnight"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>The Adelaide Crows made an &#8220;operating profit&#8221; of $1.4 million for the 2016 financial year, the club reported on Thursday.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThe result reflects improvements made across the entire organisation, including membership, home match attendances and corporate sponsorship reaching record levels,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afc.com.au\/news\/2017-03-02\/annual-members-meeting-financial-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the club posted on its website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe operate in an increasingly challenging environment and our off-field results speak volumes of our members and fans who offer unwavering support,\u201d chairman Rob Chapman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere has been improvement across each and every area of our operations, as well as back-to-back finals appearances, and those supporters should take comfort knowing the Club is in a strong position.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr Chapman outlined the club\u2019s big off-field wins:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Record membership of more than 67,000<br><br \/>\n\t&#8211; Highest average home match attendance in AFL<br><br \/>\n\t&#8211; Record revenue of $48.3m<br><br \/>\n\t&#8211; Doubling the investment into community programs<br><br \/>\n\t&#8211; Schools program Growing with Gratitude engaging with more than 50,000 students<br><br \/>\n\t&#8211; Fastest growing social media platform in the AFL.<\/p>\n<p>The club also made payments totalling $4.3 million to the SANFL, AFL and SA government and wore a cost of $244,640 after former apparel sponsor BLK went into administration.<\/p>\n<p>It reported a &#8220;statutory loss&#8221; of&nbsp;$1,346,077 &#8212; which included&nbsp;&#8220;depreciation of $1.347m, recognition of our game development grant of $1.1m and other distributions to stakeholders totaling $0.36m&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3>MOST POPULAR<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/shows\/rowey-bicks\/ouch-commentator-smacks-afl-fans-with-brutal-reality\"><strong>OUCH!
