Betts encouraged anyone with mental health issues to get help\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cTo all my brothers in AFL, I know it can get tough at times but we just have to speak up and help each other out it’s hard seeing young indigenous players pack up and leave.<\/p>\n

Only days earlier Betts had posted another photo with former Carlton teammates — including Yarran — celebrating at a wedding.<\/p>\n

Yarran has been released from his Richmond contract to deal with ongoing mental health issues, the club said in a statement on Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cChris has found it difficult to meet the demands of AFL football given his personal issues,\u201d Richmond\u2019s footy GM Neil Balme said.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimately it was agreed with Chris, and his management, that stepping away from the game is in the best interest of his long-term health and wellbeing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yarran said he greatly appreciated the support of Richmond over the past 12 months.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am extremely grateful for the support Richmond has given me over the past year. I am deeply disappointed my ongoing health issues have not allowed me to repay the Club and its supporters,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
