LATEST, 4:19pm<\/strong> — Victoria Police have charged a man following a cruelty to wildlife incident in Cowangie.<\/p>\n

According to Vic Police:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe incident occurred on Pellaring Road between 1-20 September where a number of emus were allegedly struck by a vehicle.<\/p>\n

\u201cA 20-year-old Cowangie man has been interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons with aggravated cruelty to an animal, cruelty to an animal, torment to an animal, destruction of protected wildlife and a number of traffic related offences including using a mobile phone while driving and speeding.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cowangie man will face the Ouyen Court on 9 November.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A young man who filmed himself driving over emus is reportedly from South Australia.<\/h3>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, the man is from country SA.<\/p>\n

The man in question allegedly deleted his social media accounts this week after his disturbing video went viral, but the Daily Mail says it has spoken to an ex-girlfriend who says the man went \u201coff the rails\u201d following a breakup.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe’s the type to go hunting, he grew up that way but this is just atrocious. I was shocked and speechless… angry mostly,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis parents would be outraged by his actions. They’re genuinely good people.<\/p>\n

\u201cI ended the relationship end of July and he kind of went off the rails a bit after that, well obviously a lot now that we have seen this.<\/p>\n
