The warning is current for Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of West Coast and Flinders districts.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the BOM:<\/p>\n “Weather Situation: Strong to gale force northwesterly winds are extending across southern parts of South Australia, ahead of a cold front currently near Port Lincoln. This front will move rapidly across the state today. The front is expected in the Adelaide area mid to late morning bringing squally winds and showers.<\/p>\n “Damaging northwesterly winds, averaging 50 to 70 km\/h with gusts of 90 to 110 km\/h, are likely about elevated parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North, southern Flinders Ranges and adjacent eastern slopes. These damaging winds are also expected near western and southern coasts, extending to all coastal areas this morning. Local wind gusts of 100 to 120 km\/h are possible with the passage of the front about Kangaroo Island, the lower Fleurieu Peninsula and the coastal strip of the Upper and Lower South East districts.<\/p>\n “Localised damaging winds, averaging 50 to 65 km\/h with gusts in excess of 90 km\/h, are also forecast across the whole warning area for a period near and following the passage of the front.<\/p>\n “Locations which may be affected include the Adelaide Hills, Strathalbyn, Victor Harbor, Port Lincoln and Robe, extending to Kingscote, Maitland, Adelaide, Clare, Murray Bridge, Keith and Mount Gambier during the morning.<\/p>\n “Winds are expected to ease over Eyre Peninsula around midday Tuesday, and in most other areas during the afternoon.<\/p>\n “There have been multiple reports of trees down about the Mount Lofty Ranges overnight.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The State Emergency Service advises that people should:<\/p>\n * Move vehicles under cover or away from trees Severe Weather Warning has been updated.
