Deputy coroner Anthony Schapel ruled on Friday the review would go ahead despite an effort by doctors to shut down the inquest.<\/p>\n
“The court will now proceed to hear submissions in relation to the issues of cause and circumstances of the four deaths, and the court will then deliver its findings in relation to those issues,” Mr Schapel said.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Another victim of the bungle Andrew Knox said the attempt to close down the inquest was “certainly not moral”.<\/p>\n
“This was an ill-conceived challenge by a group of doctors who once swore to care for their patients but have yet again put themselves first,” he said.<\/h3>\n
“They consciously chose to put the families and victims through more trauma to escape their own accountability.<\/h3>\n
“We look forward to the coroner’s findings but more so the urgent actioning of the recommendations.”<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
