The Royal Adelaide Hospital has been criticised in a report into an outage that left the hospital in darkness<\/a> back in February.<\/h3>\n

According to The Australian, the report highlighted several problems at the hospital in the lead up to the blackout, including:<\/p>\n

– \u201cFacility manager Spotless was unprepared for \u2018live tests\u2019 of the hospital\u2019s diesel-\u00adfuelled back-up generators.\u201d<\/p>\n

– \u201cStaff had not acted on alarms that had sounded for several days and that indicated low fuel levels in two bulk storage tanks.\u201d<\/p>\n

– \u201c\u2018A lack of maintenance response prior to the generator test\u2019\u201d and \u2018lack of preparedness at the commencement of the generator test.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

– \u201cThe report also said Spotless had not acted on previous advice that indicated water had compromised the bulk storage tanks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
