{"id":118297,"date":"2024-11-05T07:05:03","date_gmt":"2024-11-04T20:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/?p=118297"},"modified":"2024-11-05T07:21:55","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T20:51:55","slug":"two-women-dead-after-shocking-crash-seven-others-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/news\/two-women-dead-after-shocking-crash-seven-others-injured\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Women Dead After Shocking Crash &#8211; Seven Others Injured"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two women have died and a truck driver has been arrested after a crash at Wattle Flat on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/fiveaa-sports-show-with-rowey-bicks\/rowey-timmy-g-podcast-04-november-2024\/embed?style=cover&#038;image=1&#038;description=1&#038;download=1&#038;playlistImages=1&#038;playlistShare=1&#038;share=1&#038;subscribe=1&#038;background=f5f5f5&#038;foreground=000000&#038;highlight=000000\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write\" width=\"100%\" height=\"180\" frameborder=\"0\" title=\"Rowey &#038; Timmy G Podcast - 04 November 2024\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to SAPOL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police and emergency services responded to reports of a crash involving a truck and multiple cars about 12.15pm on Monday 4 November, on Main South Road at Wattle Flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A truck and trailer collided with three vehicles: a black Ford sedan, a silver Ford sedan and a white ute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sadly, two women, who were rear passengers in the silver Ford, both died of their injuries.&nbsp;&nbsp;A 44-year-old woman died at the scene and the second woman died later in hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seven other people were injured in the crash, some of them critically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the silver Ford, a 43-year-old man, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.&nbsp;&nbsp;A 14-year-old male passenger also went to hospital with minor injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the ute, a 48-year-old Hay Flat man, was taken to hospital in a serious condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the black Ford, a 38-year-old woman, and her two passengers, a 45-year-old man and a 10-year-old girl, were all taken to hospital.&nbsp;&nbsp;Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The driver of the truck, a 35-year-old Victor Harbor man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.&nbsp;&nbsp;He has been arrested by Major Crash investigators and charged with two counts of cause death by dangerous driving, two counts of cause serious harm by dangerous driving and four counts of cause harm by dangerous driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Major Crash investigators attended the scene.&nbsp;&nbsp;Investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any dashcam footage that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimestopperssa.com.au\/\">www.crimestopperssa.com.au<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Main South Road has reopened between Pyne Hill Road and Forktree Road after being closed for a number of hours while Major Crash officers examined the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deaths are the 74<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and 75<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;lives lost on South Australian roads so far this year.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two women have died and a truck driver has been arrested after a crash at Wattle Flat on Monday.
