Adelaide FC<\/strong> is under fire for its communication to fans about injured players, while the club says criticisms of its transparency are \u201coffensive\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cI find it offensive that anyone would say that we aren\u2019t transparent and we are trying to hide stuff,\u201d Adelaide\u2019s Brett Burton has told FIVEAA.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But writing for SEN, Kane Cornes<\/strong> has run through a laundry list of sidelined Adelaide players and how the club explained their injuries, including:<\/p>\n

– Coach Don Pyke<\/strong> denying Brad Crouch<\/strong> had osteitis pubis. \u201cJust seven days later Crouch himself finally cleared the air — \u2018It is osteitis pubis,\u2019\u201d Kane writes.<\/p>\n

– \u201cAt 9am this Wednesday, Pyke said he expected captain Taylor Walker<\/strong> to train fully and play this week\u2026 Twenty-four hours later, assistant coach Matthew Clarke put a red line through Tex saying he will be missing for some \u2018weeks\u2019 and required a mini pre-season.\u201d<\/p>\n

– \u201cRiley Knigh<\/strong>t, who the club said was \u2018rested\u2019 ahead of their Round 7 game against Carlton, is now missing his third straight week\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

– \u201cJake Kelly<\/strong> injured his hand earlier in the year, with Crows backline coach Ben Hart describing the injury as a sore hand. It was left to Jake himself to fill in the blanks, and confirm he had actually broken his hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

– \u201cCrows assistant coach Matt Clarke was also put on the spot at a weekly press conference yesterday, when he was asked about a whisper going around that defender Luke Brown<\/strong> and reigning best and fairest Matt Crouch<\/strong> were in doubt for this week\u2026 It was later confirmed only hours later when the teams were released that Crouch (hamstring soreness), according to Adelaide, and Brown (groin soreness), will miss tonight\u2019s game.\u201d<\/p>\n

– \u201cAdelaide have also made the term \u2018hamstring awareness\u2019 famous in AFL circles this year as they try to describe the 10 hamstring strains that they have had in the first nine weeks of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Kane also quoted a tweet from Grant Thomas saying the situation is \u201cjust not good enough\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way injuries have been reported this year is just laughable,\u201d Thomas wrote. \u201cThere is no reason to believe anything the club puts out at the moment, this is well and truly broken\u2026 It\u2019s sad.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
