Port premiership player and FIVEAA\u2019s own Kane Cornes says he believes Rory Sloane is a better on field leader than captain Taylor Walker.<\/h3>\n

\u201cMy criticism over Tex\u2019s captaincy is that he gets caught up in too much off the ball stuff,\u201d Cornes has told SEN.<\/em><\/h3>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s very boisterous off the ball, tries to throw his weight around and push and shove in the face of the opposition. Rory Sloane leads by example. When the footy is there to be won, he puts his head over it.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not saying Taylor Walker is not courageous, but in terms of the way Rory Sloane leads on the field, he\u2019s a better leader.<\/h3>\n

\u201cAnyone you speak to that\u2019s inside the four walls at the Adelaide footy club say Tex is the man.<\/h3>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the one the players listen to, he\u2019s got the best balance of off the field, on the field. The way that he leads the players, his influence over the playing group is bigger than anyone\u2019s.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI guess that\u2019s why they vote for him to be captain.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On Tuesday Crows coach Don Pyke labelled as \u201coffensive<\/a>\u201d suggestions the captaincy could be given to Sloane to keep him at the club.<\/p>\n\n
