This could be avoided, suggests the report, by reducing speed limits through intersections to as little as 30km\/h.<\/p>\n<blockquote><h3>\u201cWe are trying to say if you want to guarantee safe outcomes you have to bring speeds down to 30km\/h or 50km\/h somehow,\u201d the report\u2019s co-author Jeremy Woolley has told The Advertiser.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cThat could be by speed limits, or road design.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cIf you can\u2019t change the intersection to make it safe you have to manage the speeds to make the crash at a safe speed.<\/h3>\n<h3>\u201cFor pedestrians that is 30km\/h, so in a CBD for example you would operate the whole system to have 30km\/h in intersections.
