The Australian Energy Market Operator has lifted its blackout risk for Adelaide on Thursday as the city gets ready to sweat through a series of hot days<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

The operator has issued a \u201clack of reserve 1\u201d notice — its lowest alert level — for SA, reports The Advertiser.<\/p>\n

Energy Minister Tom Koutsantonis has told the paper he is ready to step in.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will, of course, monitor the situation and be ready to use our new ministerial powers of direction over the market or our state-owned power plant if required,\u201d he said.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThat is considered very unlikely at this stage. We launched our energy plan to boost local power supply and improve grid security, and importantly, the independent market operator has said that our plan has put SA in a good position this summer.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
