Blackwood would get a significant makeover including new shopping centres, cinemas and accommodation as part of a new masterplan to refresh the area.<\/h3>\n

The uncosted plan<\/a> has been produced by the Blackwood Business Network.<\/p>\n

\u201cTrying to get foot traffic and having a viable business was a difficult and tricky situation up here,\u201d the network\u2019s Jane Silbereisen has told The Advertiser.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThe issue is that Blackwood initially was never planned.<\/h3>\n

\u201cWhat we have now is a couple of shopping centres\u2026 but we still don\u2019t have the fundamental infrastructure that consumers need and want to comfortably shop in the area.<\/h3>\n

\u201c(People) can\u2019t get everything they need up here.<\/h3>\n

\u201cConsumer shopping habits are changing, so the critical thing is you have to incorporate all this infrastructure to attract people to an area so they not only shop there, but have their social occasions, meeting places and entertainment.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
