\u201cSpectators should also be aware that there may not be much shade available along the course so, apart from sunscreen, they should consider wearing a broad-brimmed hat, sunglasses and light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing.<\/h3>\n
\u201cCyclists training for the Bupa Challenge should ride early in the morning or later in the evening when the temperatures are cooler.<\/h3>\n
\u201cUnder no circumstances should young children and pets be left in a parked car, even with the windows open and the air conditioner on,\u201d Dr Pulford said.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n
The SES also strongly advises spectators at this year\u2019s event against parking their cars under trees as they can drop branches without warning during hot weather.<\/p>\n\n
