{"id":129041,"date":"2025-07-11T10:58:58","date_gmt":"2025-07-11T01:28:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/?p=129041"},"modified":"2025-07-11T11:02:28","modified_gmt":"2025-07-11T01:32:28","slug":"man-arrested-over-alleged-racial-abuse-of-a-36ers-player","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/news\/man-arrested-over-alleged-racial-abuse-of-a-36ers-player\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Arrested Over Alleged Racial Abuse Of A 36ers Player"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Adelaide 36ers say they are aware that a man has been arrested in Victoria on charges related to the alleged racial abuse of one of its players via social media.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/evenings-with-leith-forrest\/aflw-losing-50-million-a-year\/embed?style=cover\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write\" width=\"100%\" height=\"180\" frameborder=\"0\" title=\"AFLW Losing $50 Million A Year\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a statement from the club:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The arrest was made after Basketball Australia and Victoria Police investigated a direct message sent via social media after a match in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The abusive message was referred to Basketball Australia\u2019s Integrity Unit, leading to the arrest this week of a 37-year-old from Huntingdale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The arrested man has been charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass and\/or offend.
