The placement of some new wheel stops along Semaphore Rd has raised plenty of local eyebrows.<\/h3>\n

The stops have been placed so far out from the curb, bigger cars and trucks have been left jutting out into traffic, reports The Advertiser.<\/h3>\n

The council has told the paper the stops will be fixed next week, but locals are wondering how it happened in the first place.<\/p>\n

Semaphore Bakehouse owner Terry Purdie:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI actually spoke to the guys who were installing them because I come in at 4am and I said \u2018they\u2019re a bit far away aren\u2019t they?\u2019 and they said \u2018we\u2019re just going off the plans\u2019.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re a good idea and a safety reason but most of the trucks are just driving over the top of them so their end is not hanging out onto the road.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Froot cafe owner Phillip Bayly:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a very surprising location to put them.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great idea to put them in, it just needs to (be) put in a bit closer to the gutter.\u201d<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
