South Korean scientists say they\u2019ve developed a biochemical that can stimulate new hair follicle growth — as opposed to speeding up growth or slowing down loss, like most current treatments.<\/h3>\n

When they tested<\/a> the substance on lab mice, they say it generated new follicle growth and regeneration.<\/h3>\n

And when combined with valproic acid, the new hair reportedly grew at a faster rate.<\/p>\n

Leader of the Seoul-based research team, Professor Kang-Yell Choi said:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have found a protein that controls the hair growth and developed a new substance that promotes hair regeneration by controlling the function of the protein.<\/h3>\n
