There were two a***holes going round and round.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018If that ain\u2019t f***ing I\u2019ll pay the fine.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Alexander told&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/aliceworkman\/john-alexander-joke?utm_term=.oh2Wnvnq0#.toEblpln3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buzzfeed<\/a>: \u201cMore than 20 years ago I told crude and inappropriate jokes, which were completely unacceptable and I apologise unreservedly. There is no place for jokes about violence against women. Again, I apologise unreservedly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FBuzzFeedOzPol%2Fvideos%2F531169457218782%2F&#038;show_text=0&#038;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowTransparency=\"true\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said that Mr Alexander\u2019s joke was \u201cutterly unacceptable\u201d.<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<blockquote>&#13;\n\t<h3>\u201cJohn\u2019s made an unreserved apology about those remarks he made 20 years ago, and he said, and I agree with him, and I want to underline it, my agreement with him, statements like that, whether they\u2019re intended as jokes or not, are completely and utterly unacceptable,\u201d Mr Turnbull said.<\/h3>&#13;\n&#13;\n\t<h3>\u201cThere is no place for joking about violence against women. And I want to say once again something I have said many times to you.<\/h3>&#13;\n&#13;\n\t<h3>\u201cNot all disrespect of women ends up in violence against women but that\u2019s where all violence against women begins, so all of us need to reflect on that.
