On Friday it was revealed that five woman came forward to accuse 50-year-old comedian and actor Louis C.K of sexual misconduct<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His publicist originally told The New York Times <\/em>that Louis would not be answering any questions however the comedian has now made an official statement regarding the claims:<\/p>\n

\u201cThese stories are true. At the time, I said to myself that what I did was okay because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true,” he said in a statement.<\/em><\/p>\n

“But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn\u2019t a question. It\u2019s a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly.”<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI have been remorseful of my actions. And I\u2019ve tried to learn from them. And run from them. Now I\u2019m aware of the extent of the impact of my actions. I learned yesterday the extent to which I left these women who admired me feeling badly about themselves and cautious around other men who would never have put them in that position.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI also took advantage of the fact that I was widely admired in my and their community, which disabled them from sharing their story and brought hardship to them when they tried because people who look up to me didn\u2019t want to hear it. I didn\u2019t think that I was doing any of that because my position allowed me not to think about it. There is nothing about this that I forgive myself for. And I have to reconcile it with who I am. Which is nothing compared to the task I left them with.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Since the allegations became public, C.K’s new movie, I Love You, Daddy <\/i>premiere was cancelled. The Los Angeles Times<\/a> <\/em>has also confirmed that Chlo\u00eb Grace Moretz, who plays C.K.\u2019s 17-year-old daughter in the movie, backed out of all film promotion two weeks ago \u201cwhen she was made aware of numerous possible accusations.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Charlie Day, made famous for his role in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia<\/em>, has also backed out of promoting the film telling The Los Angeles Times:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI was as appalled as everyone to read the allegations made in the New York Times. I do not condone sexual misconduct and, in light of the allegations, will not be promoting the movie further.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The allegations were made public in an article published by The New York Times<\/em><\/a> and features statements from Dana Min Goodman, Julia Wolov, Abby Schachner and Rebecca Corry.<\/p>\n

Goodman and Wolov allege that upon entering C.K\u2019s room, still wrapped in their winter jackets and hats, the comedian asked if he could take out his penis. Understandably, the pair thought it was a joke and \u201claughed it off\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then he really did it,\u201d Ms. Goodman said in <\/em>The New York Times interview. \u201cHe proceeded to take all of his clothes off, and get completely naked, and started masturbating.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI think the line gets crossed when you take all your clothes off and start masturbating,\u201d Ms. Wolov said.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The pair told a few people after the incident but said they could \u201calready feel the backlash\u201d and worried about their careers as C.K\u2019s manager heard about it (and rightly so, as women face a tough battle in comedy already).<\/p>\n

The other women named in the article had seperate, though not dissimilar incidents with the comedian.<\/p>\n

There have long been rumours of misconduct by the comedian and Tig Notaro, another comedian who has worked with C.K before, has been speaking out against him.<\/p>\n

In anticipation of the report, the New York premiere of C.K’s controversial new film ‘I Love You, Daddy’ was cancelled on Thursday night and his scheduled appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert <\/em>was removed.<\/p>\n
