South Australia has recorded the biggest rise anywhere in Australia in complaints to the telecommunications ombudsman.<\/h3>\n

In 2016\/17 South Aussies made 12,256 complaints — an increase of 51 per cent.<\/p>\n

And across the country, NBN complaints were up a staggering 159 per cent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe picture the complaints show is we are frustrated when we cannot rely on technology to stay connected, to be informed, and to do business,\u201d Ombudsman Judi Jones said. \u201cSharing high quality videos immediately, holding an online meeting or watching Netflix on the way home, is now the norm and part of our daily routine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the first time, complaints about internet services are now higher than complaints about mobile phones. Residential consumers and small businesses still have too many complaints about their customer service, a bill or faults.<\/p>\n

\u201cComplaints about services delivered over the national broadband network more than doubled, and while this is somewhat to be expected given the accelerating rollout, the increase is a cause for concern.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
