Smoke visible across the Adelaide metro area on Tuesday was due to a controlled burn, says the CFS.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThe smoke is caused by a fuel reduction burn began in the Mount Crawford Forest today, as part of ForestrySA’s continuing commitment to bushfire preparedness,\u201d the CFS said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIgnition of the 60ha burn began in forest near Cricks Mill Road at 9am and was completed by 1pm. The fireground is safe and will be monitored by fire staff into the evening, with smoke expected to be present throughout the night.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile burning conditions have remained safe throughout the day, winds and substantial cloud cover have kept smoke low to the ground and visible over the city of Adelaide.<\/p>\n

\u201cA wind change late into the evening is expected to push smoke back in a general south easterly direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
