{"id":138027,"date":"2026-03-12T06:58:55","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T20:28:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/?p=138027"},"modified":"2026-03-12T06:58:57","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T20:28:57","slug":"two-deaths-in-separate-crashes-in-sa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/news\/two-deaths-in-separate-crashes-in-sa\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Deaths In Separate Crashes In SA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Police are investigating two fatal crashes in SA on Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/afternoons-with-stacey-lee\/chris-mcdermott-sarah-game-on-fiveaa-after-political-split\/embed?media=audio&#038;size=wide&#038;style=cover\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write\" width=\"100%\" height=\"180\" frameborder=\"0\" title=\"Chris McDermott &amp; Sarah Game On FIVEAA After Political Split\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>According to SAPOL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>About 12pm on Wednesday 11 March, emergency services were called to Three Chain Road in Port Pirie after a Ford sedan collided with a Hyundai station wagon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hyundai driver, a 50-year-old woman from Angle Vale, sadly died at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ford driver, a 25-year-old man from Port Pirie West, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Adelaide for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traffic restrictions were in place but have now reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Major Crash Investigators attended the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any other information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimestopperssa.com.au\/\">www.crimestopperssa.com.au<\/a>&nbsp;or on 1800 333 000.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Later the same day a man died following a crash at Virginia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Just before 3pm on Wednesday 11 March, police and emergency services were called to Baker Road after a Mitsubishi sedan collided with a Toyota 4WD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 24-year-old man from Lewiston, driver of the Mitsubishi, sadly died at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver and passenger in the Toyota, a 45-year-old woman and 49-year-old man from Burton, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baker Road was closed between Angle Vale Road and Gawler River Road while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene but was reopened about 8pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The man\u2019s death is the 20<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;life lost on SA roads this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimestopperssa.com.au\/\">www.crimestopperssa.com.au<\/a>&nbsp;or on 1800 333 000 and quote # 67208.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F1395FIVEaa%2Fvideos%2F2005752053705794%2F&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=560&#038;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"429\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police are investigating two fatal crashes in SA on Wednesday.
