Mark Bickley says the hold up in re-signing Jake Lever highlights a problem with how Adelaide negotiates player contracts.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThe one thing I reckon Adelaide are pretty poor at, they play the ambit claim game,” Bicks said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

“They come well unders and expect you to come in at overs and then they keep moving towards it\u2026 I don’t think that endears them at all to managers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But he remained confident Adelaide would re-sign the key defender who says he is still weighing up his future.<\/p>\n

“Lever was really rapt the club took him despite having a knee reconstruction and he feels indebted to them,” he said.<\/p>\n

“The one thing that will happen — Adelaide will have to get somewhere close. They will pay a lot more than they initially wanted to, but they will realise that they want to keep this bloke. He is the future captain of this joint.<\/p>\n

“At the moment, he is playing well, and they (Lever and his management) are fielding offers from everywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
