Caroline Wilson has lined up the AFL, saying it was a mistake to play football on Easter Friday.<\/h3>\n

\u201cThe AFL ticked every box,\u201d Caro said on Footy Classified<\/a>. \u201cThe crowd was pretty good, it was a good exciting game\u2026 lots of money was raised for the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital and the ratings were pretty good too — but that doesn\u2019t make it right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Caro reeled off five reasons why Easter Friday footy is no good:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. \u201cAnother sacred day has gone and it\u2019s become just like any other.<\/p>\n

2. \u201cThe AFL once led Australian sport in resisting the commercial overtures presented by good Friday — now it has become a follower.<\/p>\n

3. \u201cFootball over Easter used to feel really special\u2026 remember how exciting Easter Saturday footy was even after just one day break?<\/p>\n

4. \u201cThe AFL, by taking a sacred day and a great Victorian institution, and plonking football in the middle of it, well, that\u2019s just plain unimaginative.<\/p>\n

5. \u201cWe\u2019ll never get it back. It\u2019s gone.\u201d<\/p>\n
