I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen once I\u2019m gone. There\u2019s not going to be that person there to fight for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"533\" width=\"1116\" class=\"media-element file-default nova-lazyload-image-wrapper lz-cont img-responsive\" data-delta=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/screen_shot_2017-02-23_at_12.26.34_pm.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Carmel said she\u2019d had to fight for the survival of the cheerleaders in recent years\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe haven\u2019t had a major sponsor for about four years now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople perceive the girls as not being family friendly and not being good role models, and I think women are intimidated by them as well,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut when you look at the overall picture, they\u2019re a good role model to young girls. The amount of young girls who love them and look up to them is endless.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are committed to a sport, they are committed to a job, they train hard and look after their bodies and they mingle with the fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are about entertaining.
