Shadow transport minister David Pisoni says it could be days before South Rd is re-opened after it was closed when debris fell from a bike path attached to the tram overpass.<\/h3>\n

The road was closed between Cross Rd and Anzac Highway on Wednesday morning, causing major traffic disruptions.<\/p>\n

Mr Pisoni said workers on the scene were \u201copenly speculating\u201d that it could be days before the stretch of road is re-opened.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve just learnt that they\u2019re actually fencing off the bridge from pedestrian access, so you won\u2019t be able to walk underneath it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraffic won\u2019t be able to drive under the tram pass and nor will you be able as a pedestrian to walk underneath.”<\/p>\n

He said transport minister Stephen Mullighan needed to clarify for how long the road will be closed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the minister knows South Rd won\u2019t be open in the morning, he needs to clarify.\u201d<\/p>\n
