Oren Klemich praises a new study that will see SA high school kids receive free meningococcal B vaccines — but it\u2019s too late for his own son Jack.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic,\u201d Oren told FIVEAA News\u2026 \u201cI wish it\u2019d been done 10 years ago because our son would\u2019ve been part of it and he would be sharing Christmas with us in a few weeks time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oren\u2019s 18-year-old son Jack died after contracting meningococcal B in 2009.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this trial is sensational. It\u2019s going to involve hopefully 60,000 students in years 10, 11 and 12 across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of the trial, students will receive a free vaccination for meningococcal B, which would usually cost $500.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf your child is eligible\u2026 next year in 2017, it would just be fantastic. It safeguards them from this horrible disease,\u201d Oren said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur darling boy Jack played football for the school on Saturday, and had a headache Sunday, and died Monday. That\u2019s how quick it was.\u201d<\/p>\n
