{"id":17082,"date":"2016-10-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/uncategorized\/port-adelaide-strategy-out-the-window-after-hartlett-u-turn\/"},"modified":"2016-10-07T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T00:00:00","slug":"port-adelaide-strategy-out-the-window-after-hartlett-u-turn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/sport\/port-adelaide-strategy-out-the-window-after-hartlett-u-turn\/","title":{"rendered":"Port Adelaide strategy out the window after Hartlett U-turn"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>With Hamish Hartlett opting to remain at Port Adelaide, Kane Cornes says the club\u2019s trade strategy is now out the window.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cTheir strategy going in was to try and get two picks inside around about 15,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxsports.com.au\/video\/afl\/trade\/cornes-on-hartlett-non-deal!569344\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kane has told FOX Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHamish Hartlett was the player who held some currency, but the fact that he had four years to go on his contract that he signed 12 months ago was always going to make it difficult.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/shows\/rowey-bicks\/hartlett-u-turn-is-good-news-says-port-adelaide\">And now he\u2019s decided to remain at Port Adelaide<\/a>, which I think is a good move from him but throws the club strategy in the trade period out the window.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the Hartlett U-turn was \u201cnot ideal\u201d for the club\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClearly his self esteem and a bit of confidence might\u2019ve taken a hit, but knowing him personally he\u2019s a really strong minded player, really professional about the way he goes about it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe met with Ken Hinkley and Travis Boak yesterday and clearly they\u2019ve decided to go down this path.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the big winner out of it is Ken Hinkley.
