{"id":17106,"date":"2016-10-05T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-10-05T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/uncategorized\/kane-cornes-floats-swap-for-hamish-hartlett\/"},"modified":"2016-10-05T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-10-05T00:00:00","slug":"kane-cornes-floats-swap-for-hamish-hartlett","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/sport\/kane-cornes-floats-swap-for-hamish-hartlett\/","title":{"rendered":"Hammer wants to stay"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>JUST IN&nbsp;(11:43am) &#8212; Hartlett wants to stay.<\/h3>\n<p>The Advertiser and FIVEAA\u2019s Michelangelo Rucci reports that Hamish Hartlett has decided he wants to stay at Port Adelaide after weighing up offers to move interstate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHamish has decided at this stage he wants to stay at Port Adelaide,\u201d player manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelaidenow.com.au\/sport\/afl\/teams\/port-adelaide\/port-adelaide-vicecaptain-hamish-hartlett-declares-his-club-of-choice-is-still-power\/news-story\/d4caab7bc334e4da7d8dfffba5de29bc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael Doughty told The Advertiser<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHamish has had time to think about it, there has been another conversation with the coach and the leadership group and he has decided to stay at Port Adelaide,\u201d Doughty said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo a trade is now unlikely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/sport\/kane-cornes-tips-melbourne-move-for-hartlett\">Hartlett had been widely tipped to move to a Melbourne-based club<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EARLIER\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Kane Cornes says he wouldn\u2019t let Hamish Hartlett leave Port Adelaide, but now that they\u2019re down that path, he says a straight swap with the Cats could work\u2026<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cIf I could do a straight swap for Hamish Hartlett for (Steven) Motlop, I\u2019d do it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it works for both clubs. I\u2019d play Motlop more through the midfield at Port Adelaide,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/omny.fm\/shows\/trade-radio\/trade-mornings-wednesday-october-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cornes told AFL Trade Radio on Wednesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019d be a great fit for Port Adelaide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Kane said he would be sorry to see Hartlett leave Alberton.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love Hamish Hartlett. I rate him highly. I\u2019m disappointed the club is letting him go. I wouldn\u2019t personally let Hamish Hartlett go\u2026 but now they\u2019re down that track, if I could do a straight swap, Motlop has ties to South Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said Hartlett had every right to be \u201cdirty\u201d with the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no doubt about it, he\u2019s been let down by the club.
