Thousands of homes across SA are without power on Monday morning as fierce winds brought down trees and power lines across the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula.<\/h3>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been really busy since about 3am this morning,\u201d John Carr from the SES told FIVEAA breakfast.<\/p>\n

Mr Carr said the SES had responded to about 150 callouts by 8am Monday morning, mainly in the Mt Lofty ranges and Fleurieu Peninsula.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe area basically between Mt Barker and Strathalbyn [has been] very hard hit\u201d.<\/p>\n

The wild weather has also left about 8,000 homes in the Adelaide Hills without power, according to Paul Roberts from SA Power Networks.<\/p>\n

\u201cStay well clear of downed power lines and to report them to us as soon as possible. They can report those on 13 13 66,\u201d Mr Roberts warned listeners.<\/p>\n

He said power wouldn\u2019t be restored to many of those homes before the next wave of bad weather hit the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to balance our resources and it\u2019s going top be difficult to move resources from other areas because they\u2019re forecast to be hit the coming bad weather later today and early tomorrow,\u201d Mr Roberts said.<\/p>\n
