{"id":18357,"date":"2016-05-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-24T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/uncategorized\/this-cave-that-was-cut-off-from-the-world-is-home-to-some-amazing-animals\/"},"modified":"2016-05-24T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-05-24T00:00:00","slug":"this-cave-that-was-cut-off-from-the-world-is-home-to-some-amazing-animals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/lifestyle\/this-cave-that-was-cut-off-from-the-world-is-home-to-some-amazing-animals\/","title":{"rendered":"This cave that was cut off from the world is home to some amazing animals \u2013 photos"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>A centipede | Image | Patrick Landmann\/SPL<\/h6>\n<h3>A cave that was sealed off from the rest of the world for 5.5 million years and has only been seen by less than 100 people is home to some of the most extraordinary creatures you will ever see.<\/h3>\n<p>Movile Cave in Romania was first discovered in 1986 when workers scouting locations for a nuclear power plant stumbled across it, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/earth\/story\/20150904-the-bizarre-beasts-living-in-romanias-poison-cave\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to the BBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The cave \u2013 which is extremely difficult to access and requires special permission \u2013 contains half the usual amount of oxygen and is high in carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide.
