Coles was under fire on Tuesday after the supermarket giant told customers on Facebook that its home brand milk was made from powder.<\/h3>\n

In reply to a customer who asked the company whether it was true its milk was made from reconstituted milk powder, the company replied: \u201cWe can confirm that Coles Brand Fresh milk is made from reconstituted milk powder.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comment sparked outrage online, with customers firing off furious replies, including:<\/p>\n

\u201cColes FRESH milk is made from RECONSTITUTED milk!!!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cJust like their FRESH bread, that was partially baked and frozen months earlier overseas!!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cHow do you get away with calling it fresh\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cYou can run, but you can’t hide Coles. You are frauds\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cPeople need to know that Coles milk is just baby formula mixed with water\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The post was later deleted and Coles said it had contained a typo.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a typo. The word ‘not’ was missing. It’s being corrected,\u201d Coles told the Daily Mail<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe can 100% confirm Coles brand milk is fresh and not made with reconstituted milk,\u201d the company said. <\/p>\n

The gaffe comes hot on the heel of public anger over claims the two major supermarkets are not properly stocking their stores with farmer-friendly milk brands.<\/p>\n
