Whether the Rio Olympic games will go ahead is today in question as the Zika Virus continues to spread out of control and a health expert issues a stark warning.<\/h3>\n

With the Rio Olympic Games only a few months away, and the Zika Virus reaching new levels, the situation is so bad the World Health Organisation has declared a public health emergency.<\/span><\/p>\n

Multiple health experts have spoken out saying the games should be cancelled, postponed or moved to another location, as large numbers of people in Rio could result in devastating worldwide issues.<\/p>\n

As reported by Ten News<\/a>, Canadian Health expert Dr Amir Attaran has said that if the Olympics were to go ahead in Rio, it would end in a \u201cfull-blown global health disaster.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile Brazil\u2019s Zika inevitably will spread globally \u2014 given enough time, viruses always do \u2014 it helps nobody to speed that up,<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIn particular, it cannot possibly help when an estimated 500,000 foreign tourists flock into Rio for the Games, potentially becoming infected, and returning to their homes where both local Aedes mosquitoes and sexual transmission can establish new outbreaks.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dr Attaran said it would be wise to move the Olympics to another city which has recently hosted the Games to spread the events globally in cities not affected by the virus.<\/p>\n

Multiple athletes are re-considering whether they\u2019ll compete in the esteemed games if they are to stay in Rio\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n
