Part of a Boeing 777 has been found near Mozambique, sparking a breakthrough in the search for missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370.<\/h3>\n

It has been almost two years since Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 went missing.<\/p>\n

Falling off the radar, the plane disappeared into the abyss – only one trace of the plane has been discovered in that time – a part washing up on the shore of Reunion Island off the coast of Madagascar.<\/p>\n

Today, we wake up to the news that there is a \u201chigh possibility\u201d a new piece that has washed up near Mozambique could be that of the missing Boeing 777.<\/p>\n

Malaysia\u2019s transport minister Liow Tiong Lai said the part was \u201cyet to be confirmed and verified\u201d, but also tweeted the likelihood of the piece belonging to the presumed fallen jet.<\/p>\n

“Based an early reports, high possibility debris found in Mozambique belongs to a B777.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The part was discovered by a US writer who has been blogging about the missing plane.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said he had been walking on the beach two days ago and found the piece near Vilankulo, on a sand bank called Paluma near Benguerra Island (part of the Bazaruto archipelago),\u201d Joao de Abreu, president of Mozambique\u2019s Civil Aviation Institute (IACM) said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The piece was found in the same corner of the Southern Indian Ocean where the only other confirmed piece – a flaperon – was found back in July last year.<\/p>\n

MH370 had 239 people on board and was bound for Beijing from Kuala Lumpur when it went missing.<\/p>\n
