An image of what looks like a handgun spotted in a photo taken on Mars has some UFO watchers claiming it is evidence of an alien species.<\/h3>\n

The image was taken by NASA\u2019s Opportunity rover in 2014, and YouTube user Streetcap1 claims he spotted the \u201cMartian pistol\u201d in an area of Mars between Mount Edgecumbe and Wdowiak Ridge.<\/p>\n

According to the Daily Mail<\/a>, Streetcap1 suggested the firearm could have landed on the surface of Mars after an alien spaceship crashed, claiming there is debris visible around the item.<\/p>\n

Martian researcher Scott C. Warring from UFO Sighting Daily has shared Streetcap1\u2019s so-called discovery with his own followers online.<\/h3>\n

\u201cI have to admit\u2026 it\u2019s incredible,\u201d Waring wrote on his blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is defiantly one of his all tie top ten discoveries of Streetcap1.\u201d<\/p>\n

Waring said the gun is about one-foot long.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess this is why Nasa built the rovers, to find alien technology and scan it and possibly retrieve it at a latter date,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Some conspiracy theorists claim they can tell the model of the gun from detail on the trigger, but others have rejected the images altogether.<\/h3>\n

\u201cIndeed it appears to be a handgun and indeed this cannot be Mars,\u201d according to one sceptic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Nasa lies have been stack so high they can reach Mars.\u201d<\/p>\n
