And now I\u2019m all right,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Asked what led to his stay, Fevola said: \u201cEverything \u2014 drinking, gambling, depression.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Brendan Fevola played for Brisbane when his career at Carlton ended | FIVEAA\" title=\"Brendan Fevola played for Brisbane when his career at Carlton ended | FIVEAA\" height=\"366\" width=\"650\" class=\"media-element file-default nova-lazyload-image-wrapper lz-cont img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/fevola_brisbane.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>Brendan Fevola played for Brisbane when his career at Carlton ended<\/h6>\n<h3>During a rehab stint in 2011 after he was arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour, Fevola was sacked by the Brisbane Lions who had picked up the troubled star when he was dumped by Carlton.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201c[Being sacked] was probably the best thing that ever happened to me though, because then I got out of \u2018the bubble\u2019, and I was fine. It was really weird.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d keep everything in, and then I\u2019d have a drink and I\u2019d act out, because everything was built up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found it hard to express my feelings \u2014 everyone thinks you\u2019re a big, tough footy player, you\u2019re perceived as that. If you\u2019ve got issues, well, you look like a big sook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBack then, I was all over the paper \u2014 front page, back page \u2014 \u2018In rehab\u2019. Had people out the front of the institution trying to take photos.
