UPDATE (3:45pm): The Australian embassy in Indonesia has warned people to limit their movements until the situation is under control, amid reports of more explosions.<\/h3>\n

“We have seen media reports of further explosions, including in Palmerah area. Until situation is clearer, all should limit their movements,” Australian Ambassador Paul Grigson tweeted.<\/p>\n

“All Australians should stay clear of these areas, limit their movements and follow the instructions of local authorities.”<\/p>\n

According to reports, six bombs have gone off and a Reuters witness says three people are dead as gunfighting continues.<\/p>\n

Local media report that ten to 14 perpetrators were involved in the attack.<\/p>\n

A series of bombs have been detonated outside the United Nations office Indonesia\u2019s capital city Jakarta. Witnesses have also reported heavy gunfire.<\/h3>\n

Reporting from the scene, the ABC\u2019s Samantha Hawley said the city is in chaos.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can see two dead,\u201d she reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been a series of bombs, there\u2019s a lot of chaos still going on, there was still some gunfire when I arrived here about five minutes ago\u2026 so a very live situation in the centre of Jakarta.\u201d<\/p>\n
