What do you see?<br><br \/>\n\tWhat are you thinking\u2026 when you\u2019re looking at me?<br><br \/>\n\tA cranky old man\u2026 not very wise,<br><br \/>\n\tUncertain of habit\u2026 with faraway eyes?<br><br \/>\n\tWho dribbles his food\u2026 and makes no reply.<br><br \/>\n\tWhen you say in a loud voice\u2026 I do wish you\u2019d try!\u2019<br><br \/>\n\t<strong>Who seems not to notice\u2026 the things that you do.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And forever is losing\u2026 A sock or shoe?<br><br \/>\n\tWho, resisting or not\u2026 lets you do as you will,<br><br \/>\n\tWith bathing and feeding\u2026 The long day to fill?<br><br \/>\n\tIs that what you\u2019re thinking? Is that what you see?<br><br \/>\n\tThen open your eyes, nurse\u2026 you\u2019re not looking at me.<br><br \/>\n\t<strong>I\u2019ll tell you who I am\u2026 As I sit here so still,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"373\" width=\"550\" class=\"media-element file-default nova-lazyload-image-wrapper lz-cont img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/young_couple.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As I do at your bidding\u2026 as I eat at your will. I\u2019m a small child of Ten\u2026 with a father and mother, brothers and sisters\u2026 who love one another<br><br \/>\n\tA young boy of Sixteen\u2026 with wings on his feet<br><br \/>\n\tDreaming that soon now\u2026 a lover he\u2019ll meet.<br><br \/>\n\tA groom soon at Twenty\u2026 my heart gives a leap.<br><br \/>\n\t<strong>Remembering, the vows\u2026 that I promised to keep.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At Twenty-Five, now\u2026 I have young of my own.<br><br \/>\n\tWho need me to guide\u2026 And a secure happy home.<br><br \/>\n\tA man of Thirty\u2026 My young now grown fast,<br><br \/>\n\tBound to each other\u2026 With ties that should last.<br><br \/>\n\tAt Forty, my young sons\u2026 have grown and are gone,<br><br \/>\n\tBut my woman is beside me\u2026 to see I don\u2019t mourn.<br><br \/>\n\tAt Fifty, once more\u2026 Babies play \u2019round my knee,<br><br \/>\n\t<strong>Again, we know children\u2026 My loved one and me.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"365\" width=\"549\" class=\"media-element file-default nova-lazyload-image-wrapper lz-cont img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cms.fiveaa.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/old_couple.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dark days are upon me\u2026 My wife is now dead. I look at the future\u2026 I shudder with dread.
