Port Adelaide players have impressed during the club\u2019s three-kilometre time trial on Monday with almost three-quarters of the list running personal best times.<\/h3>\n

“It’s probably the best I’ve seen the group run \u2013 certainly a [3km time trial] \u2013 in my time here,” captain Travis Boak said.<\/p>\n

“It comes down to the times they’ve been running and if nearly three-quarters of the group have run a PB, then they’ve put in so much work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boak just missed his personal best in the time-trial, which was won by Sam Colquhoun in 9min 30sec, closely followed by Kane Mitchell and Tom Clurey.<\/p>\n

“It’s quite easy to go back home or wherever you’re from and relax, have a few beers and take it easy,\u201d said Boak, \u201cbut they’ve certainly worked hard and come back in really good shape.\u201d<\/p>\n

“We know our strength is our running and we build our game around that and that’s gone to another level so far.”<\/p>\n

Boak said he believed the impressive times were the players\u2019 response to a disappointing 2015 season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t expect the group to come back in this good-a-shape,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt shows how much last year hurt and how much they\u2019re willing to improve and what we want from each other this year, and what we expect.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe couldn\u2019t have asked for a better start to 2016 for the playing group.\u201d<\/p>\n
