A 31-year-old PhD student found a severed pig\u2019s head in a mosque toilet at the University of Western Australia on Sunday.<\/h3>\n

The man known as Majdi says he was preparing to say his prayers when he found the head in a campus room used mostly by Muslims to wash their hands and feet.<\/p>\n

\"toilet\"<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first, I thought it was a human’s head because I didn’t have my glasses on,” Majdi told Daily Mail Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I had a second look and realised it was a dead pig’s head. It was shocking to see something like that, especially in a clean area. There was blood on the animal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess it is a message of threat as we, Muslims, do not eat pork. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was not a good start to the day.”<\/p>\n

A spokesman for the University of WA said it was \u201csaddened by this deplorable act\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is concerning that people using the UWA Muslim prayer room have been targeted this way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to reinforce that UWA strives to support a culturally inclusive and tolerant campus community and the University will offer help and support to our Muslim students at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
