Leigh Westren is the 28-year-old former Biggest Loser star who dropped nearly 60kg during his time on the show in 2011.<\/h3>\n

But since his time on the show, he reveals that he had a serious downward spiral into crystal meth addiction.<\/p>\n

The now-healthy star has told New Idea magazine that he first tried the drug \u2013 commonly known as ice \u2013 in July 2014, after being rocked by the death of a close relative.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I\u2019d have ice once and that was it,\u201d Leigh explained. \u201cBut I loved the high it gave me, so I took it again… and again, and again.\u201d<\/p>\n

After that though, it didn\u2019t take long for him to become hooked. <\/p>\n

\u201cWithin a week I’d gone from trying ice for the first time to becoming an ice addict. I was hanging out in crack houses and doing ice all day with junkies, hanging with dealers,\u201d Leigh says.<\/p>\n

He says that the dangerous substance caused him to spend a total of $80,000 over the course of a year and drop down to just 69kgs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was 69kgs. I looked shocking,” Leigh said. \u201cReally scrawny and gaunt. I loved it because I was so skinny – but the truth is, I looked like a meth addict.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his chat with the mag, Leigh revealed that his habit, which saw him consume huge amounts of the substance, caused him to have erratic mood swings. He says he ended up being kicked out of the family home, cut ties with friends and shut out loved ones to spend time with users and dealers. <\/p>\n

Now though, he\u2019s coming clean and said that he made the decision to quit after he realised the toll it was taking on his family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe important thing is that I focus on staying off drugs and repairing my relationship with my parents,\u201d he revealed in the interview.<\/p>\n

Leigh also points to his current relationship with Emily Mills, as helping him get past his ice addiction.<\/p>\n
