UPDATE (4:21pm) Port Adelaide officially confirm Dixon deal.<\/h3>\n

The deal will see Port Adelaide send Pick 10 and a future 2016 second round pick to the Suns in exchange for the tall forward and Pick 49, according to the club.<\/p>\n

Dixon said he was \u201creally looking forward to joining Port Adelaide”.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ve been really impressed with the club and in particular with the structures that Ken Hinkley has put in place,\u201d Dixon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve met a few of the players and I\u2019m really excited about putting my head down working hard to do what I can to help improve myself and the Port Adelaide Football Club.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d also like to thank the Gold Coast Suns for their support, I\u2019ve made some great friends and really appreciate the opportunity the club has given me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old played 65 games and kicked 94 goals for Gold Coast in his seven years at the club.<\/p>\n

A shuffle of draft picks across multiple clubs will deliver Gold Coast forward Charlie Dixon to Port Adelaide.<\/h3>\n

Michelangelo Rucci reported that paperwork was being lodged with the AFL on Tuesday afternoon \u2013 \u201cwell before the 1.30pm Thursday deadline for the AFL trade period.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Power will concede its first-round draft pick (No. 10) as coach Ken Hinkley promised last month – and swap second-round draft picks in a shuffle with the Suns and Tigers,\u201d wrote Rucci.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeyond the bonus of securing Dixon – who will ultimately replace Jay Schulz as the Power\u2019s major go-to forward – Port Adelaide will still have a call in the top-20 of next month\u2019s AFL draft in Adelaide.<\/p>\n
