Patrick Dangerfield\u2019s manager Paul Connors has declared the former Crow will be a Cat in 2016 while calling on the Crows to accept the compensation pick for their former star.<\/h3>\n

“He’ll be playing for the Cats next year,” Connors told the AFL website.<\/p>\n

“I’m an advocate of free agency and in my view I think they should take the compensation pick” – number 14 overall.<\/p>\n

“Whether that will happen or not, I’m not sure,” Connors said.<\/p>\n

“Hawthorn got pick 20 for Buddy (Franklin) and they went on and won two flags,” Connors said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Crows have previously indicated they would match Geelong\u2019s offer to Dangerfield, potentially forcing the clubs to the trade table.<\/p>\n

“Patty Dangerfield has given eight years of wonderful service and I think we should respect that he’s coming home and it’s not for money,\u201d Connors said.<\/p>\n

“Everyone’s got the ability to do what’s best for themselves and that’s (a decision) for the Adelaide footy club and they think a trade might be best.”<\/p>\n

Geelong list manager Stephen Wells said he hoped Patrick Dangerfield didn\u2019t end up in the national draft.<\/p>\n

“If Adelaide was happy to see that go through and not receive any compensation for Patty then that’s a possibility, but I hope that doesn’t happen,” Wells said.<\/p>\n
