Camera technology has moved forward in leaps and bounds. Even the unskilled happy snapper can produce great portraits, but here are some tips to help you along.<\/h3>\n

Don\u2019t have your subject face into the sun. Your model will squint and the eyes are such a crucial part of any portrait. Plus you\u2019ll likely have harsh shadows on their facial features.<\/p>\n

Also, don\u2019t have them look down the lens. If your subject is on the side of the image and looking out of the frame it looks more candid and creates more intrigue.<\/p>\n

And a flash can suck the life out of a great portrait. Not only will you stun the subject, this front on light source doesn\u2019t have a lot of depth and can look flat. If you have to use a flash, keep it to the side.<\/p>\n
