Cornes\u2019s son Eddy was just one and in hospital, fighting for his life after being born with a rare heart defect, when Port played the Western Bulldogs and Minson turned on Cornes and said: \u201cShouldn\u2019t you be home with your dying son?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI was a bit blown away,\u201d Kane told Mike Sheahan in an interview on Fox Footy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI played with his brother, Hugh, and I think their father had passed away so I said, \u2018That\u2019s a really strange thing to say. I know what you\u2019ve been through\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe rang me after the game, but I didn\u2019t take his call.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kane\u2019s brother Chad who, along with dad Graham, also appears in the Fox interview, said he rang Minson the next morning \u201cand let him know what I thought\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou just don\u2019t say that. Apparently Will\u2019s an OK guy off the field, but obviously not on the field.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe did the same thing to Danyle Pearce a few years later.\u201d<\/p>\n
In 2012, Minson made derogatory comments about Pearce\u2019s mother and was suspended by the club for one match.<\/p>\n
\u201cPearcey was furious about that,\u201d Kane said. \u201cI was surprised (Will) didn\u2019t learn his lesson from the first one.\u201d<\/p>\n
