\u201cI\u2019ve got no doubt our defence has dropped off this year,\u201d Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley has told Fox Footy\u2019s AFL 360.<\/h3>\n

\u201cOur ability to connect as an 18 on the ground at once.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur back six have held up at times, our midfield have been OK at times and our forwards have been all right. But collectively, together we haven\u2019t jelled for long periods of the season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Power\u2019s poor year comes despite outstanding seasons for stars Chad Wingard, Travis Boak and Robbie Gray, and Hinkley admitted his middle tier players had been down.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s our mid-range of our team, the heart of our team, I reckon. Some of the boys in the middle part of our group haven\u2019t been near the level they expect to be,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Tom Jonas, Angus Monfries and Matthew Lobbe have all been dropped at times during the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are great characters and they\u2019re quality people, when you leave them out of your side you sit them and hold with them for a long period of time but there comes a breaking point. For some of those boys we had that breaking point, but what I\u2019ve liked is that they bounced back.\u201d<\/p>\n
