Sophie Loader has lived through labour over a hundred times, yet only delivered a baby ONCE. <\/h3>\n

The 23-year-old from Chelmsford, Essex in the UK was born with uterus bicornis, a condition that means she has two wombs, but only one vagina. <\/p>\n

As a result, every time she has her period, she suffers painful contractions that last up to 72 hours, just as a woman in labour would, as her second uterus fills with blood, mimicking a full-term baby.<\/p>\n

“I’ve been in labour more than 100 times, but only once for real. To say that it’s a pain would be an understatement,\u201d Sophie told the UK\u2019s ‘Mirror’.<\/p>\n

“When I was 13 and the contractions started, I had never felt pain like it and couldn’t understand what was happening to me, it was terrifying – even the doctor thought I might be pregnant.”<\/p>\n

Sophie has had to be hospitalised over 30 times, because she was unable to cope with the pain unassisted. She says when it first happened, \u201cI felt like my insides were being ripped apart.”<\/p>\n

The condition has fortunately not prevented her from actually delivery a baby successfully, and she welcomed her son Chase two years ago.<\/p>\n

As for treatment, Sophie has now ben fitted with an implant that slows the frequency of the fake labours to just once every three months<\/p>\n

“In the end, all doctors could do was teach me how to control my contractions using breathing exercises that real women in labour use.<\/p>\n

Sophie says: \u201cI wouldn’t wish this on any woman. One labour is more than enough.”<\/p>\n
