Speculation continues to mount about a possible move for Patrick Dangerfield at the end of the year, but have we all been looking in the wrong direction?<\/p>\n
A restricted free agent at the end of this season, Dangerfield has been linked with a move home to Victoria, with Geelong widely tipped as his likely destination.<\/p>\n
But Collingwood could launch a bid for the Adelaide star, with the Pies\u2019 recruiting manager Derek Hine confirming they have room in their salary cap.<\/p>\n
Asked on SEN radio whether the Pies could accommodate a player like Dangerfield, Hine said: \u201cWe\u2019ve got room in the cap.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe list profile now, given the changes that we\u2019ve made, with in excess of 3300 games that have gone out of our club in a four-year period and we\u2019ve made 45 changes in a four-year period,\u201d Hine told SEN on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re in a stage now where our list profile in terms of age and our games profile are in the bottom per cent of the competition.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to be really strategic and targeted in terms of the players we attract,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
