It’s been a tradition since forever – our engagement and wedding ring goes on the fourth finger of the left hand\u2026 But the question is – WHY?! The reason will blow your mind.<\/h3>\n

Why on earth do we wear our wedding ring on our fourth finger of the left hand?!<\/span><\/p>\n

The history is pretty damn cool.<\/p>\n

The explanation actually stems back to an ancient Chinese concept.<\/p>\n

The Chinese say each finger represents a different relationship:<\/p>\n

1. Your thumb represents your parents.<\/p>\n

2. Your index finger represents your siblings<\/p>\n

3. Your middle finger represents yourself.<\/p>\n

4. Your fourth finger represents your life partner<\/p>\n

5. The little finger represents your children.<\/p>\n

Hold your thumbs, index fingers, fourth fingers and pinky fingers tip to tip, and bend your middle fingers and hold them joint to joint like this:<\/p>\n

Try separating your thumbs (parents) – They will open<\/p>\n

You are not destined to live with your parents for the rest of your lives. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Try separating your index fingers (siblings) – They will open<\/p>\n

Because your brothers and sisters will have to live their own separate lives and have their own families. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Try separating your pinky fingers (children) – They will open <\/p>\n

Because they will grow up, get married and settle down on their own terms. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Now, try to separate your fourth fingers, which represent your spouse.<\/p>\n

You’ll be surprised to find you just cannot separate them, because the love of your life and you are meant to be together for all their lives, through thick and thin.<\/p>\n
