It’s been 14 months and counting since Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 went missing without a trace. Now, a conclusive theory has been pitched, and it’s one that actually makes sense.<\/h3>\n

There are a lot of far-fetched conspiracy theories about where MH370 is, what happened to the plane, since it disappeared on March 8, 2014.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, however, one theory has come to light that actually could be for real.<\/p>\n

Byron Bailey is a professional pilot with 26 000 hours of flying time experience, with many thousands of those hours dedicated to Boeing 777 specifically.<\/p>\n

His theory suggests the plane was hijacked by someone over the South China Sea, turning off all communication equipment on board. <\/p>\n

That person then flew the plane westward towards Penang and reprogrammed the Flight Management System to the southern Indian Ocean.<\/p>\n

Bailey says that only a qualified jet pilot could manually insert defined waypoints of latitude and longitude into a Flight Management System of a Boeing 777, as there are no dedicated air paths leading over the Southern Indian Ocean.<\/p>\n

Bailey says he doesn’t believe MH370 crashed because it ran out of fuel at 35 000 feet. <\/p>\n

“One engine would quit first, since they are fed from separate fuel tanks, and the autopilot would have disconnected as it struggled to maintain control.<\/p>\n

“The aircraft would then have spiralled into a near vertical dive and would have hit the water at near supersonic speed shattering into thousands of pieces. I have consulted with aircraft wet drill procedures instructor Captain John Corcoran. <\/p>\n

“Corcoran Aviation Safety Services trains pilots and cabin crew in evacuation procedures, life raft drill and basic sea survival methods following a ditch emergency.<\/p>\n

“In this field, he is one of Australia\u2019s most eminent specialists. A crash by a very large aircraft like the Boeing 777 would result in a huge amount of debris that would float for months and months.”<\/p>\n

Bailey says even the life jackets still float, even if they’re in their pouches. Cushions would float. Luggage would float.<\/p>\n

“So why, with the strong westerly winds the roaring forties north of Antarctica, has not even one item of debris washed up on the shores of Tasmania, the South Island of New Zealand or Chile.”<\/p>\n

Bailey says he believes MH370 “did not crash”.<\/p>\n

Bailey believes MH370 was “ditched” – which is the term for a “water landing”. <\/p>\n

“Only one had the necessary experience and ability to make this happen. The jet airline pilot fraternity is almost unanimous as to who was responsible.”<\/p>\n

Bailey thinks MH370 is still intact, but lying on the ocean floor.<\/p>\n

“I believe MH370 rests intact in the darkest place in the world, 6500m down in a cold, remote, lonely place.”<\/p>\n
