Infuriated fans of “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” have taken to social media to express their dismay over the sexist portrayal of female characters in the film.<\/h3>\n

Over night, the director of “Avengers: Age Of Ultron”, Joss Whedon, has been forced to delete his Twitter account, thanks to hideous feedback, including death threats, over the sexist portrayal of female characters in the hit sequel.<\/p>\n

Whedon’s final tweet was “Thank you to all the people who’ve been so kind and funny and inspiring up in here.”<\/p>\n

Whedon is being slammed for the film for a few reasons – one being the depiction of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s character Quicksilver, and the portrayal of Scarlett Johansson’s character Black Widow.<\/p>\n

Fans jumped on the social media bandwagon to probe Whedon. One “tweeter” asked why the words “strong female character” weren’t in his vocabulary.<\/p>\n

He’s been called “sexist”, “misogynistic” and was told he had done a “hatchet job” on Black Widow’s character.<\/p>\n

Despite death threats and cruel taunts on social media, Whedon will be sleeping well at night knowing the Avengers sequel is the second highest grossing three day US debut in HISTORY.<\/p>\n

It made $244.08 million (AUD) in its first week.<\/p>\n
